On the day of your appointment, they will see that you are checked in promptly and that your files are updated accurately. They will also assist you with your insurance, including Alberta Health Services and private insurers.
The optometric assistants are trained to perform testing prior to your visit with the optometrist. They are also knowledgeable about contact lenses, and are able to provide you with contact lens information and trainings. The optometric assistants are also trained to perform additional testing that may be required, such as visual fields.
Optical dispensers will offer assistance and advice when you are selecting your new frames and lenses. They will also adjust your frame to fit precisely and show you how to keep your glasses looking and working properly. Having a great frame, the right lenses with the proper adjustment can make a lot of difference in how well and how comfortably you see. Our staff members have received formal training, as well as frequent updates through professional continuing education programs and industry product seminars.
